NCC (Air Wing) Cadets Brought Laurels to DAV College, Jalandhar

Jalandhar 7 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Cadet Manish Pathania and cadet Jaskiranjeet Kaur Saini of NCC Air Wing from 1(PB) Air Sqn NCC Jalandhar have attendant Republic Day Camp (RDC-2018) which is considered to be the top most and hardest camp in NCC. Cadet Manish Pathania is pursuing B.Sc. Non-Medical 2nd year and cadet Jaskiranjeet Kaur Saini is pursuing B.Sc. Medical 2nd year from DAV College, Jalandhar.
In recognition of their achievement, Principle Dr. S.K. Arora, Flying Officer Dr. Lalit Goyal, Group Commander Brigadier IMS Parmar, and Commanding Officer Wing Commander S.K. Sharma felicitated the cadets.
Cadet Manish Pathania and cadet just Kiranjeet Kaur Saini was selected after the successful hard training of 5 months from August to December and thereafter they went to Delhi in January for final preparation of Republic Day Camp.
Only four cadets was selected from 1(PB) Air Sqn NCC Jalandhar out of which two are from DAV College Jalandhar. Cadet Jaskiranjeet Kaur Saini was selected for Rajpath Parade contingent at DG NCC Delhi. After a very hard competition for a full week, she was selected as Contingent Commander and she got selected as Air Platoon commander for Senior Wing(SW) Girls contingent. Her contingent keeps on practicing rigorously in the wee hours at 2:30 a.m everyday at Rajpath for 14 km and finally on 26th January 2018, she marched as Air Platoon commander of NCC girls contingent on Rajpath in front of honourable President Ramnath Kovind
Cadet Manish Pathania was selected in Prime Minister's rally and also represented the cultural program at DGNCC Delhi. He performed folk dance of Punjab Bhangra and also participated in ballot which was released on the topic Women's Empowerment (No Means No). He was also a part of squad drill competition representing the Punjab Haryana Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh directorate.
During his camp, Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa invited both the credits cadet along with other candidates over a cup of tea to the Air House and congratulated for their highest achievement in NCC. Cadets got rare of the rarest opportunity to meet the personalities like President of India, Prime Minister of India, Raksha Mantri, Raja Raksha Mantri, Chief Minister of Delhi, Vice President of India, Chief of Air, Army and Naval Staff. Our both the candidates brought laurels to DAV College Jalandhar and also to 1(PB) Air Sqn NCC Jalandhar.
