National Science Day celebrated at HMV

Jalandhar 7 March (Jaswinder Azad)- CV Raman Science Society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated National Science Day under the ale guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen.  Celebrations were started with lighting of lamp followed by DAV Gaan.  On this occasion, Panel Discussion was held on the topic Role of Science and Technology for Better India.  The experts were Dr. Sachin Tyagi, Scientist, CSIO, Chandigarh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Bhatti, HOD Botany and Environmental Sciences, GNDU Amritsar and Prof. Dr. Anish Dua, Deptt. of Zoology, GNDU Amritsar.  Offg. Principal Mrs. Sudarshan Kang, Incharge CV Raman Science Society Dr. Neelam Sharma and Co-Incharge Dr. Seema Marwaha extended floral welcome to all the panelists.  Students made discussion on sustainable development under the sub theme – ‘Clean energy and clean environment’.  More than 200 students of UG classes interacted with the experts.  Award excellence was given to participants – Ms. Priya, Ms. Akriti, Ms. Miranalni, Ms. Prabhjeet Kaur, Ms. Faiza.  They deliberated on Hyper loop concept, Nuclear energy, Bioremediation and degradation of sanitary napkin.  The experts gave the conclusion to use renewable energy sources.  Use of biofuels should be promoted to save mother earth.  Use of plastic water bottles should be minimized.  People should be sensitized towards female reproductory health issues. Science Magazine ‘Science Gravity’ was also distributed to students by Dr. Shaveta Chauhan.  The Panel discussion was modulated by Dr. Ekta Khosla and Dr. Anjana Bhatia.  On this occasion, the members of Organizing Committee Dr. Meena Sharma, Mr. Harpreet Singh, Mrs. Rakesh Uppal, Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Mrs. Saloni Sharma, Mrs. Asha Gupta, Mrs. Purnima, Dr. Nitika and Mr. Sumit Sharma were also present.
