International Women’s Day celebrated at HMV

Jalandhar 8 March (Jaswinder Azad)- The Adult Education Society and Women Empowerment Cell of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized events under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen on the occasion of International Women’s Day.  Adult Education Society organized a session on Art of Living.  Resource person Archana and her team gave the tips on art of living.  300 students participated in this session.  Mrs. Archana said that it is important to keep ourselves happy and healthy.  It improves mental fitness which helps us to be empowered.  These activities are helpful for youngsters to remain calm and happy.  Members of teaching and non-teaching staff also participated in this session. Incharge Adult Education Society Dr. Nidhi Bal thanked her.  Women Empowerment Cell of the college also celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing Panel Discussion.  Panelists were Dean Youth Welfare Mrs. Navroop Kaur, HOD Psychology Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, HOD Pol.Sc. Mrs. Nita Malik and Incharge Women Empowerment Cell Ms. Bharti.  The students presented their views on various topics such as feminism, wage inequality and women empowerment.  Dr. Ashmeen Kaur put forth the aspects of gender stereotyping, psychological empowerment and change in mind set.  Mrs. Navroop Kaur said that change in the male’s mindset is the need of the hour.  Mrs. Nita Malik talked about laws for women. Ms. Bharti talked about sociological aspect of social evils on women.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen said that today’s woman is progressive.  She knows how to take care of relations in the family.  The status of women is improving day by day.  We should take pledge for a healthy human, egalitarian and emancipated society.
