COLORS’18, a two day cultural fiesta kicks off at CT Group of Institutions

•    HMV College  lifts overall trophy at COLORS 2018
•    60 colleges participated with more than 1000 students
•    Budding singer Anadi Mishra enthralls audience with his mesmerizing performance
Jalandhar 19 January (Jaswinder Azad)- More than 1000 students from 60 colleges across Punjab participated on the first day of cultural festival COLORS 2018 at CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan. The first day of the event was inter-college competition in which students took part in 23 competitive activities like Group Dance, Fashion show, Business Plan, Quiz, Solo Singing, Debate, Bhangra and many more.
HMV College managed to lift the overall trophy of COLORS 2018, in an inter-college competition whereas Mehar Chand Polytechnic College bagged runners up trophy. Besides, DAV College Jalandhar bagged first prize in Debate, CT Group of Institutions bagged second prize. The first prize for Short Film Documentary goes to Guru Nanak Nursing College Jalandhar. HMV College bagged first prize in Group Dance and first prize in Solo Singing as well. MGN College of Education bagged first prize in Business Plan and second prize was bagged by HMV College.  Trinity College bagged first position in AD Mad show whereas HMV College bagged second position. In the Group Discussion event, Innocent Hearts College of Education bagged the first prize. NFCI Amritsar bagged first prize in Mystery Meetha. HMV College bagged first prize in Fashion show whereas Guru Nanak Nursing College bagged second prize.
Apart from its own students, the college was home to more than 1000 students from various colleges namely HMV College, LPU College of Education, Lyallpur Khalsa College,Trinity College, Doaba College, DAVIET, KCL-IMT, Rayat and Bahra College, CT Group Shahpur, NJSA Government College, Kapurthala, SD College, DAV College, Jalandhar, Mehar Chand Polytechnic and Pyramid College Jalandhar etc.
To entertain the participants, budding singer from the city, Anadi Mishra, brother of renowned comedian Sugandha Mishra enthralled the audience with his mesmerizing performance.
Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Campus Director said, “Like every year, we have received a wonderful response from various colleges on the first day of the event. Students participated with full competitive spirit in various activities and have won the honors. COLORS aim at inspiring the youth to elevate aspirations, stay focused and achieve greater heights. The objective is to bring out the dynamism of the youth of today by providing them platform to perform.”
S. Charanjit S Channi, Chairman, CT Group and Co-Chairperson Mrs. Parminder Kaur Channi said that this is a wonderful platform given to the young students to showcase their talent and this way they can also test their hidden abilities.
