A special program organized by Lyallpur Khalsa College

Jalandhar 23 January (Gurkirat Singh)- PG Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a special program wherein Sri Varinder Walia, eminent Journalist, writer and Chief Editor, Punjabi Jagran graced the occasion and addressed students about various aspects of journalism and writing. Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, PG Department of Punjabi welcomed Mr. Walia to the institution and informed the audience about his long list of accomplishments in particular his well publisised novel ‘Tankhayia’. Sri Varinder Walia also recalled the journey of his long journalistic career covering 11 books and also informed about the relevance of his talked about novel in the current climate of Punjabi language. He also encouregd the students to reach out to every book that is worthy of inspiring knowledge and inculcate values among the youth of our country. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra attributed the various recognitions received by Varinder Walia to his long ranging career and its neutral nature. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, PG Department of Punjabi duly honored Mr. Walia, Arundeep, Jornalist and Madam Tejinder from Punjabi Jagran publications. A question answer session was also conducted on the occasion which was anchored by Dr. Surinderpal Singh Mand and the entire program was witnessed by various Heads of Departments, Staff Members and the faculty of PG Department of Punjabi.
