K.M.V. Gandhian Studies Centre starts women empowerment course

Jalandhar 21 November (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage and Autonomous Institutions, Jalandhar's Gandhian studies centre started the women empowerment course for the economically weaker sections of the society. It is noteworthy here that since its inception in 2007, the centre has been working towards spreading the Gandhian Philosophy among the various sections of the society through its programs. Empowering women, who for some reasons could not be educated by providing life skills in Fashion Designing, Cosmetology and Basic Computers has been an important project of this centre. Till date the centre has empowered more than 3000 girls, with many success stories to its credit. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi welcomed the students to the course. She appreciated the house wives who had enrolled in the course and total the students of the importance of being equipped with some vocational training. She also promised assistance to the students even after completion of their course. She appreciated the efforts of Dr. Monica  Sharma, Director, Ghandhian Studies centre and all the faculty members associated with the centre.
