JALANDHAR POLICE SUCCEEDED IN ARRESTING ANOTHER ACCUSED NAMELY SUKHWINDER SINGH @ NIMMA AND RECOVERED RS. 36,25,200/- FROM HIM, WHO WAS INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT OF LOOTING OF RS. 1,18,50,00/- FROM THE CASH VAN OF H.D.F.C. BANK

Jalandhar 16 November (Jaswinder Azad)- On the directions issued by Sh. Arpit Shukla, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Zone-II, Jalandhar, Sh. Jaskaran Singh, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jalandhar Range, Jalandhar and Sh. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar and under the supervision of Sh. Balkar Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation a police party led by Sh. Surinder Mohan, PPS, DSP/Investigation and Sh. Sarabjit Rai, PPS, DSP/Kartarpur cracked down the case of  looting cash from the Cash Van of HDFC Bank in the area of PS Bhogpur within half an hour in which Rs. 01,18,50,00/- was looted on gunpoint on 10-11-2017.
Sh. Arpit Shukla, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Zone-II, Jalandhar while
addressing the press media informed that on  10-11-2017 on the statement of  Sh. Rajinder Pal Singh s/o Sh. Surjit Singh r/o Jagdev Kalan, district Amritsar (Presently resident of House No. 104-A, Guru Ramdass Avenue, Airport Road, Amritsar, who is posted as Editor in HDFC Bank Main Branch, case FIR No. 229 dated 10-11-2017 u/s 395/307 IPC, 25 Arms Act was registered in PS Bhogpur.  05 out of 07 accused in the case were already arrested earlier and an amount totalling Rs. 61,69,500/-, 01 Pistol 315 Bore alongwith 02 live cartridges, 01 Pistol 12 Bore alongwith 03 live cartridges and 03 empty cartridges and 03 motorcycles (Passion, CD-110 & Discover) was recovered from them.  Inspr. Harinder Singh, In-charge CIA-I and SI Surjit Singh, Station House Officer PS Bhogpur during the course of investigation of the abovementioned case, has arrested one another accused namely Sukhwinder Singh @ Nimma (Aged about 27 years) son of Buta Singh resident of Hamira, PS Subhanpur, district Kapurthala from Ladowali Road, Jalandhar.  This accused on the very next day after the looting incident took place, left for his relatives living in Village Tehranpur, district Lakhimpur, Utter Pradesh.  During the course of investigation it was learnt that he has gone to Uttar Pradesh and as such a police party of this  district raided his relatives house in Uttar Pradesh, upon which accused Sukhwinder Singh came back to Jalandhar. The said accused was arrested on 15-11-2017 from Ladowali Road, Jalandhar and on his revelation an amount of Rs. 36,25,200/- has been recovered.  A deep probe of the said accused is being conducted.  Till now, an amount totalling Rs. 97,94,700/- has been recovered and all out efforts are being made to recover the remaining amount.

Accused Sukhwinder Singh @ Nimma (Aged about 27 years) during the preliminary investigation revealed he is 6th Class Pass and his marriage took place this year.  Since last   10 years he is employed in the Hamira Distillery.  He further revealed that he alongwith Happy planned to loot money from the Cash Van of HDFC Bank.  On the very next day, after the looting incident took place, he left for his Paternal Aunt living in district Lakhimpur, Uttar Pradesh and has today itself returned from there.
