DAV College celebrated "National Press Day"

Jalandhar 16 November (Jaswinder Azad)- Press Club and Journalism and mass communication department of DAV College celebrated " National Press Day". " A free press advances peace and justice for all ”was the topic of discussion between the aspiring journalist. "Two minutes silence was taken to give tribute to the people who gave up their life for serving this profession".
Indian as a country stands on three pilars  i.e  Constitution ,Justice System and Press. Each of them have a specific role to play. Constitution makes sure our country works properly, Justice System provide rights to citizen and Press provides information.16th November is celebrated as National Press Day. Where every repoter weither from digital or print media is acknowledged for their contribution in awaring the society for the on going topics all round the world.
HOD of Journalism and mass communication deptt Prof Meenakshi Mohan,President Press Club Manish Khanna and Teacher In-charge Press Club Prof Jyoti Vardhan Mahajan raised and discussed many topics to grill the mind of upcoming journalists and make them aware towards the nation and the world. On this occation College principal Dr SK Arora said that media is an integeral part of our society. It acts like a mirror to us and also carries the responsibility of making the world a better place to live.
President of Press Club Prof Manish Khanna took a moment to express his view on how media is growing according to the changing times. Prof Menakshi Mohan said that it is very important for a journalist to be unbiased cause bias media only promote unstabilty in a society.
Teacher In-charge and Prof in BAJMC Deptt Prof Mahajan said that it has been observed that today's media is bending towards the commercial side and is not able to bring society together.Answers to questions are being contaminate  with political interference and it is our duty to stop this mishappening to take place. To celebrate National Press Day Prof Menakshi (HOD BAJMC), Prof Manish Khanna(President Press Club),Prof Jyoti Vrdhan Mahajan,Prof Payal,Pof Radhika,Prof Yadhuvir and students of Press Club were present.
