Apeejay College of Fine Arts students successfully participated in Model Youth Parliament

Jalandhar 15 November (Jaswinder Azad)- A team of 10 students of different classes of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar successfully participated in Model Youth Parliament organized by Punjab University regional Centre, Ludhiana on 4th & 5th November, 2017. The topic for discussion during this was “Integrated GST Bill”. Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma while putting forth her views on this said that when students enthusiastically participate in such mock parliament sessions, they got the experience of politics and politicians at first hand, which sometimes enlighten their potentials and they decide to enter the field of politics and excel in the same. During this mock-session, Harshita Thakur of B.Com Sem-I participated as a minister of small scale industries while Saloni Sharma of B.Com Sem-I participated as Minister of power and others were there as members of Parliament. Aastha of M.Com-I received special applause and appreciation from the chairperson of the session. The students also witnessed the interaction session on “Politics as a Career” addressed by Mr. Simranjit Singh Bains, MLA from Lok Insaaf party, Ludhiana. They also had a firsthand experience to witness a panel discussion on Electoral Reform by Mr. D.R Bhatti, General Secretary, Congress Punjab, Mr. Vineet Joshi, State Secretary  BJP, Punjab and Mrs. Vinay Kapoor, Income Tax Officer.
