Mayor World School organises ‘Rangoli Making Competition’

“Light up all the beautiful lamps, to enlighten up all the pathways”
Jalandhar 12 October (Jaswinder Azad)- Indian festivals are the occasions for great joy and celebration. To usher the fervour of Diwali – the festival of lights and colours, Mayor World School expressed cultural mannerism and hospitality by organizing an interhouseRangoli competition (Category Grades VI-VIII) on October 12, 2017. Keeping in mind this traditional art and to encourage it, the participants of the four houses created exotic designs for various themes. Not only did they express through their art the beautiful way to decorate the foyer but also showed the incredibly diverse Indian culture. The participants used mirrors, waste material, petals, earthen lamps, rice and colours to make the rangoli look attractive. The energy levels and the excitement of the participants was over-whelming, and it also turned out to be a herculean task for the judges. However Dickens House, represented by Rushitaand Punyacreated an eye capturing design and bagged the 1st position. Keats House represented byAsmiand Lakshitasecured the 2nd position. The Principal, Mr. J. S. Hundal announced the results and awarded them with the merit certificates. He appreciated the participants for their tremendous potential, presentation and creativity, and congratulated the winners.
