Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a special program to mark the International Cerebral Palsy

Jalandhar 11 October (Jaswinder Azad)- The Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a special program to mark the International Cerebral Palsy Day which was participated in as the chief guest by Mr. Vivek Joshi, a special personality tackling Cerebral Palsy for years. He was welcomed to the college by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra with a bouquet of flowers. Dr. Raju Sharma, Head of the Department of Physiotherapy informed that the Physiotherapy OPD was set up by the department 18 years ago and also highlighted the various symptoms and ramifications of Cerebral Palsy in the early years of a child which further severely hinders the growth process a well. Chief Guest Mr. Vivek Joshi also shared his struggles with Cerebral Palsy and the obstacles he cleared on his way to achieving higher education which has led to him providing free education to 50 needy students of the city. On the occasion, around 25 children battling Cerebral Palsy were also invited to the stage where they displayed their talents with full vigour. Students of the Department of Physiotherapy presented various colourful items to enhance the cultural side of the program. On behalf of the College, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra honoured all the guests and children who graced the program and reiterated the college's desire to continue its work in the field of social service and human welfare. The team of Dr. Jaswant Kaur, Dr. Priyank Sharma, Dr. Komaldeep, Dr. Sonia, Dr. Sukhwinder and Dr. Rajbir contributed immensely to preparation of the event. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Richa Sharma.
