KMV Students and Staffs celebrate autonomous status with full joy and enthusiasm

Jalandhar 10 October (Jaswinder Azad)- The students and staff members of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, the heritage institution of Jalandhar have welcomed the autonomous status with full zeal and enthusiasm. It is pertinent to mention that KMV is bestowed with the status of autonomy by the University Grant Commission, MHRD, Govt. of India and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The students and staff members celebrated this new development in a very jubilant mood. The Students and staff members welcome this decision by reciting historical songs. It is the first women college of the state who has been granted autonomous status.
There is vibrant excitement amongst the faculty and the students specially. This is so because the students are looking forward to innovation in courses, new creative changes in framing of the syllabus. They are also expecting streamlining & customization of the examination system to suit various needs of the students actively involved in co-curricular activities like youth festival, N.C.C., N.S.S. sports etc. The declaration of results, re-evaluation etc. is bound to be quicker. Now the number of students will be definitely easier to tackle as only the needs of students of K.M.V. will have to be tackled in comparison to the whole University and the colleges affiliated to it. Principal Prof. Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi called this change historic one. She said that the institution as a whole experienced enough to brace the change with maturity and smoothness. It is all for the betterment of future generations. Education needs to be taken to a higher level so that Indian society can be ready to face the world of the future.
