Within 72 Hours Dc Again Visit The Site Of Adampur Airport For Effective Monitoring Of Project Reiterates Commitment To Ensure First Flight From Airport On September 25

Adampur (Jalandhar) 11 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Within 72 hours of fixing ten days deadline for completion of ongoing work on Adampur airport, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr.Varinder Kumar Sharma today again visited the site for effective monitoring of the project. Reiterating firm commitment of the state government to start flight on September 25, the Deputy Commissioner accompanied by officers of District administration and Airport Authority of India hours asked the officers to expedite the work by deploying more labourand machinery on shift basis round the clock to complete the work by September 18. He inspected the ongoing work on the site and categorically said that the work must be completed within stipulated time period adding that any laxity in completing this ambitious project was undesirable and unwarranted. Mr. Sharma, while expressing satisfaction over the fact that thework was going on in full swing, said that the visit was aimed at assessing the work being carried out on ground level.
The officers of PWD and AAI accompanying the Deputy Commissioner assured him that as per his directions the work would be completed soon as they were leaving no stone unturned to meet the deadline by him. They said that the work construction of visitor's lounge and roads has already been expedited and it would be completed by September 18. They also informed Mr. Sharma that the work on fencing would also be commenced soon so that it was completed on time.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner asked the authorities to pump in more resources and manpower to ensure that the first flight from the domestic airport was operational on September 25. Mr. Sharma also informed the officers that he would pay frequent and regular visits on the site of the Airport to keep updated about the pace of work. The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Joint General Manager (Civil) AAI Mr. MS Duhan, Executive Engineer (PWD) Mr. Sarabraj and Executive Engineer (Water Supply) Mr. NP Singh.
