Kamla Nehru College for Women bag champions trophy in Zonal Youth Festival

Jalandhar 21 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Continuing its winning streak, the young talent of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara once again proved their mettle by lifting the Overall Champion’s Trophy in the D Zone Zonal Youth Festival that concluded on Thursday, with a huge margin. The four day festival was organized by Youth Welfare department of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar at the university campus. In total 32 items of music, theatre, dance, literary and fine arts were held during these four days in which 16 college of Kapurthala and Nawanshahr district participated. The teams which stood first and second in the competition, will now get a chance to participate in the Inter Zonal youth festival which will be held at GNDU Amritsar. During these four days, KNCW bagged the following Prizes
First Position: Group Shabad/ Bhajan, Group Song, On the spot painting, Clay modelling, Installation, Mime, Rangoli, Phulkari, Mimicry, Group Dance, Poetical Symposium, Elocution, Western Vocal Solo, Western Group Song and Giddha
Second Position: Classical Vocal, Poster Making, Cartooning, Collage, Vaar Singing, Kawishri
Third Position: Classical Instrumental (Non Percussion),Photography, Geet/ Ghazal, Quiz
President, College Managing Committee Mr. IK Sardana and Principal Dr. Kiran Walia congratulated the participants and the teacher in charges and wished them all the best to continue the winning streak in the coming years as well. The trophy was received in the college premises amid dance and beats of dhol.
