Hindi Divas celebrated at Kamla Nehru College for Women

Jalandhar 14 September (Jaswinder Azad)- The celebration of Hindi marked the day at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara as ‘Hindi Divas’ was celebrated by PG Department of Hindi of the college. On the occasion, Writer and Editor of ‘Dainik Savera’ newspaper, Mr. Suresh Seth was the chief guest at the occasion while Mr. Ramesh Soni, editor of research journal Research Link from Indore was the guest of honour. Dr. Sarla Bharadwaj and Dr. Jawahar Dheer delivered their talk and recited their poetry on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Seth advised the students to accept media and technology with open arms and open mind and become the flag bearers for mother tongue Hindi. Talking about the importance of Hindi, Dr. Soni said that in today’s world of dire competition, Hindi is the language which becomes the voice of our emotions and feelings. Besides, Dr. Bharadwaj, Dr. Dheer and College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia recited their poems and mesmerized the audiences. To celebrate the occasion, the department has organized various written and recitation competitions for the students from classes 11 to M.A. which included News Reading, Chart Making, Story writing, Essay writing, Paragraph writing and poetical recitation. The winners of these events were awarded by the distinguished guests. On the occasion, Principal Dr. Kiran Walia welcomed the guests and thanked them for sharing their valuable views with the students. Head of the department Dr. Asha Sharma conducted the stage while staff members Ms. Jyoti and Ms. Samita were also present at the occasion.
