CT Group organised National Dance and Music Festival

  • The Baba Sheikh Farid Aagman Purab “Sanskritik Yatra-2017” organised in association with North-zone cultural centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture Government of India)
  • More than 100 teams from different states of India participated and displayed their culture.
Jalandhar 24 September (Jaswinder Azad)- A great display, wonderful performances and breathtaking moments of Cultural heritage through Dance and Music were mesmerized to wintess on Sunday at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus. The event was National level Dance & Music festival- Baba Sheikh Farid Aagman Purab “Sanskritik Yatra-2017” organised by CT Group in association with North-zone cultural centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture Government of India) at S. Manjit Kaur Auditorium, CT Shahpur Campus.
Prof. Kathryn Mitchell (Vice Chancellor, University of Derby), Mr. Lew Wernick (Director, International Affairs, University of Derby), Sh. VK Sharma, IAS (Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar), S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group), Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director , CT Group), Dr. G.S. Kalra (Campus Director, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur), Sh. Sh. Ravinder K. Sharma & Sh. Jarnail Singh Officials (North Zone Culture Centre, Patiala) inaugurated the event in the presence of other dignitaries, guests and students.
Seven teams from various states including Assam, Oddisa, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal, Punjab performed their cultural dance & music events. There were splendid performances by the teams as a team from Assam performed Barat & Fishing Dance, Odhisha- Goti Puja, Rajasthan- Bhawai, Himachal Pradesh-Sirmouri Nati & Lambra, Haryana- Ghoomar, Phag & Panihari and Punjab- Jindua, Bhangra and Jhoomar.  Students had a great time enjoying the LIVE performances by Murli Rajasthani & Bawa Sikander.
More than 1000 students from different schools and colleges also gathered the event and enjoyed at the same time guests with a flavor of cultural dance and music from different streams of life also marked their youthful presence to add bling into the event.
Prof. Kathryn Mitchell (Vice Chancellor, University of Derby), Mr. Lew Wernick (Director, International Affairs, University of Derby) were awestruck with the beautiful performances by the artists at the event, while Sh. VK Sharma, IAS (Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar) said that such kind of events groom the hidden talent of participants, he also lauded the performances given by participants and wished them good luck for their future.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group) said that such events boost the confidence of the students and encourage them to come forward. The guidance of the teachers further sharpens their inborn talents. These programmes are organized from time to time in order to unravel the creative talent of the young students.
