A stricken hosteler student of Lyallpur Khalsa College was taken to PIMS

Jalandhar 11 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Another sad demonstration of the rapidly falling medical and healthcare system and its indifference towards the patients came to the fore in spectacular fashion when Ifsaga Ahmed Daar, a stricken hosteler student of Lyallpur Khalsa College was taken to Punjab Institute of Paramedical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar but was met with total indifference from the on duty doctors in the Emergency ward of the hospital. The situation became more appalling when instead of checking the patient, the doctors suggested him to be taken to another medical facility of the region. Hostel warden Rajinder Kumar was assisted by Simarjit Singh another student of the college to have the student admitted in Guru Nanak Mission Hospital where the student was duly treated and released after an hour. This raised further questions on the extremely negligent approach shown by the PIMS Authorities towards the same patient at a time when it was their prime duty to attend such patients. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra condemned the negative attitude displayed by the PIMS staff and reacted on the incident by urging the medical institutions to treat patients on priority which would save many valuable lives of our society.
