A lecture was organized at Kamla Nehru College for Women

Jalandhar 8 September (Jaswinder Azad)- To commemorate the occasion of Hindi Divas, a lecture was organized by PG Department of Hindi of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara on Friday. Dr. Harmohinder Singh Bedi, eminent Hindi writer and former head, Department of Hindi, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar was the resource person at the occasion.
At the event, Dr. Bedi delivered a talk on the Importance and Contribution of Hindi language. Calling Hindi a global language, Dr. Bedi said that on a global level Hindi is playing a major role as a prominent language of communication, exchange and establishing contact between people hailing from various backgrounds. He said that since a large number of people around the world can understand Hindi, we can rightly give it the status of being a global language.
Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Walia welcomed Dr. Bedi and thanked him for sharing his enlightening views with the students. On the occasion, faculty members of the department Dr. Asha Sharma, Dr. Poonam and Madam Jyoti and the post graduate and under graduate students of the department were present.
