POLICE OF PS MAQSUDAN OF DISTRICT JALANDHAR RURAL ARRESTED 02 NARCOTIC SMUGGLERS AND RECOVERED 02 QUINTOL 18 KG OF POPPY HUSK, INDIAN CURRENCY OF 40 THOUSAND RUPEES & 01 MOTORCYCLE.

Jalandhar 18 August (Jaswinder Azad)- On a special drive launched upon the directions issued by  Sh. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) against narcotics and anti social elements under the supervision of Sh. Balkar Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation and  Sh. Sarabjit Singh, PPS, DSP/Kartarpur, the Jalandhar (Rural) Police achieved a major success when Inspr. Jaswinder Singh, SHO PS Maqsudan alongwith police party arrested 02 narcotic smugglers on 17-08-2017 and recovered 02 Quintol 18 KG of Poppy Husk, Indian Currency of Rupees 40,000/- and 01 Motorcycle Baja Platina bearing registration No. PB-09-Y-2538.

On 17-08-2017, Inspector Jaswinder Singh, SHO PS Maqsudan alongwith police party while conducting patrolling reached near Bus Stand Village Pattar Kalan, one person was spotted, who was carrying a plastic bag on his head.  However, on seeing the police party he immediately turned about and tried to escape.  He was immediately nabbed by the police party and on asking he revealed his identity as Jaspal Singh @ Bhaia  (Aged about 38 years)  s/o Ajit Singh, r/o village Pattar Kalan, PS Maqsudan district Jalandhar and the search of plastic bag led to recovery of 10 KG of poppy husk.  During the preliminary investigation, the arrested person revealed that he use to bring the heavy consignments of poppy husk from one Hardip Singh s/o Tarsem Lal r/o Mainma, PS Sadar Kapurthala, district Kapurthala and sell the same by reaping huge margins.  He further revealed that he can help the police party in arresting Hardip Singh and a huge recovery of poppy husk could be effected from him.  The police party alongwith the said accused reached near village Pattar Kalan when a person riding Platina motorcycle  bearing registration No. PB-09-Y-2538 with a plastic bag loaded at the rear side of the seat was spotted.  Jaspal Singh immediately informed the police party that he is Hardip Singh of village Mainma.  The personal search of the plastic bag carried by him led to recovery of 10 KG of poppy husk.  Furthermore, on his revelation DSP/Kartarpur & SHO PS Kartarpur alongwith police party conducted search of the house of Hardip Singh which led to recovery of 11 plastic bags and each bag weighing 18/18 KG of  poppy husk.  As such, a total of 02 Quintol 18 KG of Poppy Husk.  A total amount of Rs. 40,000/- of Indian Currency was also recovered from Hardip Singh which he earned from the sale of poppy husk.  I this regard case FIR No. 166 dated 15 NDPS Act was registered in PS Maqsudan of this district.
Revelation.
1.            Accused Jaspal Singh @ Bhaia  (Aged about 38 years)  s/o Ajit Singh, r/o village Pattar Kalan, PS Maqsudan district Jalandhar is a resident of Sirsa, Haryana and is presently residing in his in-laws village Pattar Kalan, PS Maqsudan.  He is 5th Class pass.  He is married and has 02 sons and one daughter.  He revealed that from last 05 months, he is in business of sale of poppy husk and is doing this business at higher level.
2.            Accused Hardip Singh (Aged about 30 years) s/o Tarsem Lal is a resident of Mainma, PS Sadar Kapurthala, district Kapurthala.  He is 10th Class pass and is married.  He is a father of 03 daughters.  During preliminary investigation he revealed that he is a driver by profession in Cambridge School, Kapurthala.  Since long ago, he came in contact with a driver namely Rana who was a resident of TV Tower and became friends and Rana was already a known of Harshad resident of Jammu & Kashmir.  As such Hardip Singh came in contact with Harshad through Rana.  About 05 months ago, he himself went to Harshad and brough a consignment of 20 Kg of Poppy Husk.  Thereafter, he remained in contact with Harshad and about 01 month ago Harshad sent him 08 KG of Poppy Husk concealed in the back cabin of the truck and in lieu thereof he was paid an amount of Rs. 1,50,000/- by Hardip Singh.  A weak earlier, Hardip Singh demanded 12 bags of poppy husk from Harshad, which he sent in a truck and an amount of Rs. 03 lac was to be paid by Hardip Singh to Harshad.  The address of Harshad is being verified and after verification all out efforts will be made to arrest him.
Furthermore, during  the special drive launched by the Jalandhar (Rural) police against drug peddlers/smugglers  for the period 16-03-2017 to 18-08-2017,  791 cases under various sections of NDPS Act have been registered and a total of 845 accused (754/Male &91/Female) have been arrested from whose possession a total recovery of 27 KG 924 GM Opium, 1543 KG 600 GM Poppy Husk, 03 KG 494 GM Heroin, 43KG  645  GM 500 MG Intoxicant Power, 08 Kg 147 Gm Ganja, 1898 Intoxicant Injections, 74908 Intoxicant Tablets, 52172  Intoxicant Capsules, 70 Gm Charas, 02 Gm Smack and 09 Syringes have been effected.  Moreover, during the said period 232 proclaimed offenders of various police stations of district Jalandhar (Rural) have been arrested.
