National Librarian’s Day celebrated at KNCW

Jalandhar 12 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Literary competitions marked the celebrations of National Librarian’s Day held at Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara on Saturday at the College Library. On the occasion, a debate competition and speech competitions were organized in which students from various departments of the college participated. The topic for debate was ‘Technology: Boon or Curse’ and the topic for speech was the Importance of Library.  
Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Walia was the chief guest at the occasion while members of Library Advisory Committee Mrs. Gurjeet Kaur, Mr. Sushil Kumar and Mrs. Sanjna Walia were the judges of the event. Speaking on the occasion, the students talked about the role that library plays in the life of a student and how it can be used productively. The participants of debate discussed about the pros and cons of technology and gave tips on how it can be used productively. While appreciating the students, Principal Madam talked about the importance of library and motivated the students to made productive use of library for their academic growth. The students and staff of various departments and staff members of Library led by Ms. Ruby were present on the occasion.
