Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra has informed about the delay of grants for Government Aided Colleges

Jalandhar 2 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, President, GNDU Affiliated Colleges Principals' Association has informed about the delay by the Government of Punjab to release the grants for Government Aided Colleges. This has led to the colleges to bear the salary and other expenditures on their own resources which are already on a tight rope following a decline in the number of admissions for the Academic Session 2017-18. In the near future a continuation of the current scenario may even lead to the shut down of such colleges due to a lack of assistance from the government. Dr. GS Samra has also penned a letter to the Secretary, Higher Education, Govt. of Punjab and also to the Director, Education Department Colleges urging a speedy release of grants for assisted colleges which can prolong their existence and therefore provide more educational facilities for students as well.
