Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrate 71st Independence Day

Jalandhar 14 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Student Welfare Association of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar saluted the nation and its freedom fighters by celebrating 71st Independence Day. The occasion marked by a Patriotic song which stirred up the love for nation’s prosperity in the minds of youngsters. Mr. Vishav Bandhu Verma, Assistant Prof. in History highlighted a well known fact that today’s generation is fully aware of its rights but forgets its duties towards the nation. He also targeted the youngsters aiming to settle in abroad which makes their country handicapped. Ms. Lovepreet Kaur, Assistant Prof. in Punjabi threw light upon the true meaning of Independence and a citizen’s duties towards making India a better place to live in. College students presented an act which exhibited the glimpses of contribution of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives without any sign of regret to attain the freedom from the clutches of British Rule. Students of the College had also shown the uniqueness and richness of India’s culture.
On this auspicious occasion, Principal Dr. Sucharita said that the college has taken a unique step to instill patriotic fervour among the staff and students. She said that after seventy one years of Independence India still struggles to get freedom from limitations of caste, colour and creed. We all need to unite ourselves to free our minds from all evils and celebrate the uniqueness of India’s Unity in diversity.
