CT Group of Institutions organized ‘World Hepatitis Day’

Dr. Kulbir Sharma SMO, PIMS Jalandhar shared his views about the theme for this year’s global campaign is Elimination Strategy for Viral Hepatitis.
Jalandhar 28 July (Jaswinder Azad)- With the intent of Corporate Social Responsibility, CT Group of Institutions organized ‘World Hepatitis day’ on Friday in co-ordination with Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Jalandhar at CT Institution, Shahpur Campus, Jalandhar.  This world Hepatits day was celebrated for awareness of Society to dangerous disease Hepatitis with theme Eliminate Hepatitis. More than 300 students & faculty member had celebrated this day. The expert talks delivered by Dr. Kulbir Sharma (SMO, PIMS Jalandhar) aims to raise global awareness of hepatitis, a group of infectious diseases known as Hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E and encourage prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Kulbir Sharma explained that although breakthroughs have been made, challenges still remain. Dr. Kulbir Sharma emphasized to make people more aware of the importance of early testing, and to encourage citizens to adopt the correct lifestyle, including maintaining high hygiene standards, using medical facilities that ensure proper sterilization, and taking the vaccine for HBV to avoid the problem of combined infection, which aggravates the matter further.
Dr. G.S.Kalara  (Director Campus, CT Group of Institutions) addressed the audience. He he shared that prevention from hepatitis is possible if people are aware about vaccination especially in case of children. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group) appreciated the contributions from Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences  and endorsed that in addition to providing regular education in CT Institutions, we also instilled values in the students in societal contribution so that they understand its need in the society and shoulder the responsibility in developing the Nation.
