Welcome Address by Prof. Atima Sharma at KMV Collegiate School

Jalandhar 9 May (Gurkirat Singh)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar as a matter of routine welcomes all new entrants into its folds like every mother welcomes a new baby into her world. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi addressed and interacted on one to one basis with the students of recently begun 10+1 and 10+2 classes of all streams at KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School. She briefed the newcomers with the rich cultural legacy of 132 years that they had inherited. Hailing their decision of pursuing higher education in the pioneer institution of women education of Northern India, she exhorted the students to aim high, dream big and try to reach beyond the horizons of their expectations. She asked them ask to aim to make their parents and their institution proud. Lieutenant Ms. Seema Arora, the NCC incharge of the college also spoke to the young girls about NCC and its benefits in the current scenario.  She asked them to become strong enough to be employed in the security services of the state instead of looking upto someone else for security. Dr. Gurjot, Head, Dept. of History organized a series of entertaining and educative games/ riddles which were immensely enjoyed by the students. Winners of these games were also given prizes. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Gurjot outlined the importance of keeping our immediate environment clean and asked the students to maintain hygiene and cleanliness inside the campus. It was overall a rewarding day for one and all.
