Press Note by Eklavya School , Jalandhar on World Kidney Day

Jalandhar 9 March (Gurkirat Singh)- Eklavya School, Jalandhar observed the ‘World Kidney Day’ among the middle school students. World kidney day is celebrated all over the world on second Thursday in the month of March in order to raise the public awareness about the kidneys importance and its contributions to the overall health. The objective to observe this day was to make the children aware about the diseases and problems of the kidneys in order to reduce the occurrence of kidney diseases as well as all the associated health problems of the kidneys.
Various precautions were discussed among the students to get prevented from the risk of developing kidney problems:-
1.Help your kidneys by keeping yourself fit and active as exercises helps in reducing blood pressure and thus reduce the risk of developing Chronic Kidney Disease.
2.Help your kidneys by maintaining and controlling the normal blood sugar level as high blood sugar level leads to the diabetes and thus kidney damage.
3.Make your kidneys healthy by regular monitoring of your blood pressure as high blood pressure lead to the heart attack or stroke thus causes kidney damage.
4.Keep your kidneys healthy by eating healthy and maintaining normal weight as overweight and unhealthy eating habit lead to the diabetes, heart diseases and many other problems lead to the Chronic Kidney Disease.
5.One should go for walking, running and cycling exercises daily. The students made posters and did slogan writing on ‘World Kidney Day’. The speech was given to raise the voice for the kidney health awareness. The students were shown video on the working of Kidneys in human body. The students performed the activities with full enthusiasm. Various symptoms of Kidney problems were also discussed with the students. The Director, Ms Seema Handa said that such kind of days help the students to become more health conscious. The Manager, Ms Sapna Bakshi and the Principal, Ms Dimpal Sharma appreciated the activities conducted by the children.
