Modi calls up Capt Amarinder to congratulate him on landslide Punjab victory

Chandigarh 11 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called up Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh to congratulate him on his party’s landslide victory in the state assembly elections. Modi spoke to Captain Amarinder on telephone to convey his regards and extend his government’s full support for the development of Punjab. The prime minister told the PPCC president, under whose leadership the Congress has recorded a sweeping victory in the state, that the central government would do its best to ensure that Punjab’s development agenda is on track and the state progresses under the stewardship of Captain Amarinder. Earlier, talking to media persons after the stupendous Congress victory, Captain Amarinder had expressed the hope that the Modi government would work with the state government to bring about the much-needed development in the state.
