KMVites attend 3-day course at IIMC (Indian Institute of Mass Communication), New Delhi

Jalandhar 14 March (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar exposing students top the knowledge and practical experience outside the four-walls of the campus is a routine.  The latest activity in this category was conducted by Department of Journalism & Mass Communication .  Students of BA(JMC) and B.Voc (Photography & Journalism) were taken to the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi for a three day course.  The institute is under the information & Broadcasting Ministry of the Govt. of India and the course organized was on the topic ‘Media & Communication’ which was attended by 25 students enthusiastically.  On the inaugural day Dr. Surbhi Dhaiya, Course Director, Advertisement and PR talked to the students about ‘The Changing Aspects of Indian Media Industry’.  On the same day Sh. Nimish Rastogi, IIS briefed students about how the Govt. official media operated.  Next Prof. Shashwati Goswami, Head, Dept. of Radio & TV spoke extensively on Radio & TV Journalism.  Noted expert of advertisements Sh. Ramesh Tehlani exposed the students to the various aspects of making effective advertisements.  Renowned Hindi film writer Ms. Advait kala expounded in detail the various steps involved in writing the script of a film. On the second day of the course, Director APJ Institute of Mass Communication, sh. Ashok Obra talked to the students about the changing face of the rich media industry, alongwith the famous brand consultant Mr. Saurabh Parmar talked about the major impacts of digitalization on media journalism.  Prof. Mukul Sharma talked about Development journalism.  Next renowned Defense journalist Ajay Banerjee shared his experiences about defense journalism.  On the third day and the last day sh. Anaya Rai, Advisor Decker Communication spoke about Research Vs. Media Research. Prof. Shweta Singh talked about New Media in Journalism Dr. Jay talked about the important aspects of Broad casting journalism. Director General IIMC Mr. K.G. Suresh and ADGH. Mr. Mayank Aggarwal appreciated the efforts of KMV and said that it was for the first time that under-graduates of any college were attending such a course in the institute which had been established in 1965. They observed that the course was unique in design and go a long way in shaping the professional output of the students.  Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the students on the successful completion of the course.   She also congratulated Head, Dept. of Journalism Dr. Rubal Kanojia, Ms. Nidhi & Ms. Muskan for making stupendous efforts in arranging and designing such an original course for their students.
