KMV honours Veer Naris during International Women’s Day celebration

Jalandhar 8 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar organized KMV empowered women award 2017 to celebrate International Women’s Day.  It was organized to honour Veer nariyan, women achievers and KMV Star achiever’s students with three different categories of awards under the same title. The star attractions of the day were Dr. Sushma Chawla leading gynecologist of the city and also vice president KMV managing committee, Dr. Shruti Shukla (State Co-ordinator-cum-Deputy Directory, Guidance Bureau, Punjab) with a doctorate on convicted women, Amneet Kondal, IPS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Headquarter, Jalandhar.  Mrs. Indu Verma, Controller Programme, Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar all the above dignitaries were honoured with KMV empowered women award 2017. Needing no elaboration that these women have carved a permanent niche in their various fields by the dint of their courage and determination all of them addressed the students telling them that they lacked nothing and that to empower themselves to be fruitful to the society and be at the helm of affairs so that they could be harbingers of social change.
The next category to be honoured was that the brave women Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur and Mrs. Harpreet Kaur who had lost their brave soldier husbands to the noble cause of national security.  It was a really emotional moment for all who gave a standing ovation to these brave hearts who will struggle throughout life to sustain their family alone for the cause of the nation.  The third category of the achievers who were honoured were the star achiever students who were labeled KMV stars in the making.  The first to receive the award was S/Uo Shabnam NCC cadet the only girl from Jalandhar RDC contigent to have marched on Rajpath on 26th Jan, 2017.  She was also made to attend NIC, Port blair and received several medals in sports & cultural competitions.  The second student star was Rupali, the Head Girl of the college who have stood by the administration & has shown exemplary courage in lighting social malpractices.   The third star was Navpreet-participant Femina Ms. India 2016.  She is an exceptionally determined girl who has decided to give the contest another chance & win it ultimately.  Several other students who won the various competitions organized during the celebration were also honoured.  They were participants in debate, declamation one act plays etc.  Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi observed that it was women at grassroot-level who needed to be empowered and they were the one’s who bind the family & the social fabric ultimately.  It was an exceptionally enthralling day on the whole.
