HMV celebrated p day

Jalandhar 14 March (Jaswinder Azad)- The Mathematics department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya celebrated p (pie) day in the college premises.  On this occasion, Inter college competitions of Power Point Presentation, Poster Presentation and Mathematical Skit were held.  The Chief Guest of the occasion was Prof. Pammy Manchanda, Head of Maths Deptt., GNDU Amritsar.  Dr. Shelly Garg from DAV University was the Guest of Honour. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the guests with bouquet of flowers and appreciated the efforts of Mathematics department. Head of Maths department Mrs. Gagandeep gave the importance of Pie in Mathematics and briefed about various competitions.  She said that mathematics is useful in every step of life.  It is only in Mathematics where the function of multiplication between negative and positive exists.
The judges of power point presentation were Dr. Shelly Garg and Mrs. Meenakshi Syal.  The poster presentation was judged by Prof. Pammy Manchanda and Ms. Shama Sharma.  Mathematical skit was judged by Prof. Pammy Manchanda and Mrs. Navroop Kaur.  On this occasion, Chief Guest and Head of Mathematics department GNDU Amritsar Prof. Pammy told about the applications of Mathematics in various fields.  She talked about the importance of Pie and appreciated the efforts of Maths department.
In Inter college competitions, teams of Doaba College, KMV, Apeejay, DAV, BLM Girls Colleg Nawanshahar and B.D. Girls College participated.  In power point competition, DAV stood first, BLM Girls College stood second and BD Arya Girls College stood third.  In poster presentation, HMV stood first, Apeejay College stood second and BLM Girls College Nawanshahar stood third.  In Mathematical skit, Apeejay College stood first, HMV stood second and BLM Girls College Nawanshahar stood third.  Overall trophy was won by BLM Girls College, Nawanshahar.  Prizes were given to the winners.
