Apeejay College of Fine Arts celebrate International Women’s Day 2017

Jalandhar 8 March (Jaswinder Azad)- The elegance of womanhood was celebrated at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar in the form of International Women’s Day 2017. The renowned women who have touched the greater heights illumined the occasion with their benign presence.   Ms. Lavlin Thadani, a renowned Film Maker, Social Activist was under the limelight in the event. Her Tele-Film ‘Karmawali’ was also screened at Cannes Film Festival. She is well read of Russian Literature. Dr. Shruti Shukla, Deputy Director, SCERT and Ms. Sadhna Sangar, President, ‘We’ and Punjab Sahit Kala Academy also graced the occasion.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the college also inaugurated National Exhibition and 29 female artists have displayed their artistic works in the same. The college also honoured its alumnae along with its best students who have earned fame as business entrepreneurs or as experts in their professional careers.
Dr. Shruti Shukla expressed her views that a woman needs to go hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder with men only than she can soar high in the realms of glory. Ms. Lavlin Thadani said in this patriarchal society a woman needs to arm herself up to face the obstacles of society.
Principal Dr. Sucharita shared her views that woman is the foundation of a society and every social circle is incomplete without her contribution.
