Career Counselling Programme in Association with Northern Railways organized for the Wards of Railway Employees

Jalandhar 28 February (Jaswinder Azad)- Faculty of School of Information Technology ,Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus in Association with Northern Railways organized a Career Counselling Programme. This career counselling session was organized for the wards of Railways Employees on February, 26, 2017 in the Apeejay Institute campus.
Mr. Ranjit Singh, Training and Placement Officer and Mr. Daljit Singh Matharu, faculty from School of Information TechnologyAIMTC were the coordinators for the entire session. More than 30 families of Northern Railway and their wards attended the session. Mr. JusufKabir, divisional Personal Officer/C, Northern Railway Ferozpur graced the occasion as chief guest.
The inaugural lecture regarding career orientation was delivered by Mr. Ranjit Singh, wherein he presented his views on competitive skills development. He also delivered a motivational talk which was filled with life sharing experiences.  He told students about the requirement of the industry and what employers look for in a candidate during the selection process. Thus, giving them a deeper career perspective and a sense of career self- awareness. He encouraged the students to pursue any task with full enthusiasm and work with perseverance towards their goal.
Mr. Daljit Singh Matharu, faculty School of Information Technology, enlightened the students on certain tricks to use to make Google Search more effective. He told them about the importance of keywords while searching for right jobs. He taught them the use of filters and various tools that would help them to find what they seek.
Later on an interactive session was also held wherein the experts from Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus cleared all queries and doubts raised by the students and their parents present on the occasion. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among the students regarding opportunities and challenges in deciding their career options.
Dr. Kulwant Kaur, Dean School of IT and other faculty members were also present on the occasion. Director, Dr. Rajesh Bagga appreciated the efforts made by the faculty of School of Information Technology and interacted with the parents and students present there.
